- Fable III (Xbox 360) is a trio in the Fable Series developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game is set fifty years post Fable II in the imaginary Albion continent. The monarch of Albion has died and left his empire to the eldest son, Logan. During his four years of rule, Logan engaged himself in tyrannical activities. The game begins with the player probing the case of Logan executing a native of Albion, which caused massive protest by local citizens. On intervention, Logan offers the players various moral choices, like whether the campaigners should be executed or the player’s love interest. Subsequently, the player runs away from the castle along with the mentor, Sir Walter Beck and butler, Jasper.
- With the guidance of Theresa, the Seeress of Spire, the player begins to gather allies to start a revolt against the autocratic king Logan. Among the allies include the nomadic king, Sabine, Ben Finn and Major Swift from the Royal Army, Bowerstone Resistance leader Page and the Aurora King, Kalin. While gathering support from the allies, the player learns that the Crawler and forces of Darkness, intend to destroy all life from the Albion kingdom. Due to this reason, Logan was treating his subjects badly and raising funds for strengthening the military forces.
- The player then becomes the new monarch and has to opt from two choices – whether to keep the promises of his allies or raise money by betraying them. The player’s choice will help to ascertain his image as a good or bad ruler. He can use the treasury money for personal benefit or transfer personal wealth to the treasury. If the treasury has 6,500,000 gold at the time of Crawler’s attack, then the player can safely protect the kingdom. In case, the amount of gold is less the world will be depleted of civilians. To be a perfect ruler, the player has to prevent civilian casualties and be a benevolent king.
